Nairobi United crowned NSL Champions days after securing KPL promotion

Nairobi United have been officially crowned the 2024/25 National Super League (NSL) champions, capping a brilliant season with a 0-1 win against MOFA at Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium (Mamboleo Stadium) in Kisumu on Saturday afternoon, June 14, 2025.
The result, confirmed by the team, marked the final game of their triumphant campaign, coming just days after they secured promotion to the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League for the 2025/26 season.
“ WE DID IT…We’re National Super League Champions..Show some love,” the club posted on their Facebook account.
Nairobi United clinched the NSL title with a commanding 7-1 victory over SS Assad on Sunday, June 8, 2025. This followed their promotion-sealing 2-1 win against 3K FC on 23 May 2025 at Dandora Stadium. With 21 wins, 9 draws, and only 4 losses in 34 matches, the team finished with 72 points and a +33 goal difference, establishing themselves as the NSL’s standout side.
The other team promoted is A.P.S Bomet F.C., which finished second on the NSL table.
Beyond the league
Owned by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, Nairobi United, founded in 2015 as Balaji EPZ Football Club, have risen quickly through Kenyan football’s ranks. Their NSL success was complemented by a strong Mozzart Bet Cup run, where they defeated FKF Premier League heavyweights like Kakamega Homeboyz, Tusker, and KCB.

The team was also congratulated by FKF National Super League.
“Congratulations, Nairobi United FC Champions of the FKF National Super League 2025! Your hard work, passion, and determination have paid off – you’ve earned your place at the top!,” they posted on Facebook on Saturday.
Nairobi United’s promotion, alongside APS Bomet, sets the stage for their FKF Premier League debut. The “NaiBois” have built a loyal fanbase and a reputation for attacking flair and resilience.
