Preparations

Ruto will lead the nation during the fete in Homa Bay. The preparations are mainly carried out by the Kenya Defence Forces, and on Thursday, the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), General Charles Kahariri, and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga assessed the preparations.

The National Celebrations Steering Committee is overseeing the final Madaraka Day rehearsals.

State Department for Internal Security and National Administration Raymond Omollo has also visited the site for assessment.

“Our tour extended to key strategic sites, including Tom Mboya University and the Homa Bay Pier, as part of broader logistical and operational planning.

“We reviewed ongoing preparations, assessed infrastructure readiness, and engaged with National Government Administration Officers (NGAOs) teams to ensure seamless coordination,” Omollo said.
